Met with HR Rep at University career fair. Nielsen was looking to hire an analyst supporting a former employer of mine. Initially HR was responsive, polite, and helpful as they conducted a phone screening and set up another phone interview. However, I was passed off to another HR rep that was not aware of my background, did not realize I had already been through an initial screening and generally slowed the entire process. I had a very positive phone interview with someone who would be my manager if I got the job. It was a very relaxed conversation. After, the HR rep insisted I have another phone interview, even though I offered to meet onsite, this time with a VP. The VP was late to the call, jumped right in and asked case study questions that were unnecessary given the entry level nature of the role. The HR rep should have mentioned the format of the interview.
After, the HR rep mistook me for another candidate and set up another interview, only to later tell me that I would not be moving forward. Though the HR rep offered to give me feedback if I requested, when I did take her up on the offer she responded that, she "did not have any feedback."
TLDR: HR at this company is a mess. Treat your interviewers with respect, don't drag them through a 2 month process, feign a high level of interest, and not even bother to interview them in person.
The company seems to be struggling to adjust to the advent of Ecommerce sites. They simply don't hold all the data anymore. I would not recommend getting on this sinking ship.
