I had a phone interview with a recruiter, and she passed my resume to one of the supervisors. I immediately received a call back to schedule an onsite interview with the supervisor. Interview went well, supervisor as friendly and personable. Then, 2 days I got a call again from a different recruiter telling me that they thought I would be a better fit for the production department. So, I've been scheduled again for an on-site interview with a different manager from production. Interview went well, the manager even called in another supervisor from Quality depart because he thought I would be a good fit for that role, so she interviewed me as well-it wasn't planned at all. I didn't have any manufacturing experience and the manager told me that he hired people that didn't have any, and the another supervisor told me, she didn't have any experience either. Towards, the end, they both said, "We are still interviewing other people" The line that we all know means you didn't get the job, but are just being polite and pretending that you will be hired. My intuition was right, because I didn't get an email either way, until I reached out to the recruiter, telling me they chose someone else. Wow, all that for Nothing. I believe this is age discrimination, they would rather hire a 20-year-old with Walmart Experience than a 40-year-old with life/job experience.
