Spoke to NiSource about a position with their NIPSCO division in Indiana - their public utility arm.
I have previous utility experience and was looking forward to the conversation and was paired up with a member of the Ft. Wayne public affairs team for a virtual interview.
She came a few minutes late and skipped an introduction, instead asking me: "what do I know about this interview today?" and then proceeds to tell me that HR doesnt have anything organized for the process, but she will ask me a few questions anyway.
She begins her questions with no background about the role, the company - nothing pertinent to share or a proper introduction.
Her questions - didn't even have a point: "What makes you smile?" "What is your biggest goal for today?" "How do you manage working on more than one project," etc. etc. Didn't even bother to take notes to anything I said and tried to end the call in about 8 to 9 minutes. I proceeded to ask some questions to try to salvage the interview or obtain some type of information, but she was entirely annoyed.
e sort of saving grace but it was pointless.
This person is in public affairs and clearly had zero ambition to do any type of public service or be an ambassador to the company here.
Needless to say - there was no follow up. Just 2 months of silence and then an automated rejection email. Nice...
