Nexteer Automotive Embedded Software Engineer interview questions

I had previously applied several times only to be rejected right away probably due to inexperience in the automotive sector. Eventually I got an interview thanks to referral by someone at a higher managerial level in the company. Interview experience was overall good. Had a phone interview with HR first followed by the hiring manager. Then came the on-site one with 3 manager level folks all at the same time. Most questions were personality based with a few technical questions towards the end when the 3rd interviewer joined the panel. They were very upfront about what the role entails and what their plan for the employee is including training phase. Option for a future move to Auburn hills was also floated by them. Two weeks later the managers called me out of the blue on a conference call and offered the job.

Applied online, they called me after a few weeks for a technical phone interview. The interview lasted for about 45 min. The interviewer asked all technical questions from the resume and also a few HR questions. After 1 or 2 weeks, I got a mail saying that I am not selected for the position that is NOT embedded software engineer position. They also thanked me for attending on-site interview that I did not even attend. I contacted HR and again I got an email talking about some other position other than embedded software position. Finally, after sending 2 or 3 emails, they said that I am not selected for the position as my skills are not a perfect match for the position.
