Interview
Applied through their website as a referral. Took a recruiter over a week to start the process despite my contact having prodded them. Completed an initial written assignment and they liked the response so set up a manager screen. The manager said he liked me and would have HR reach out to schedule the next round. At that point, the recruiter ghosted me and did not respond to any follow-up emails.
I applied online. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at NextCapital Group (Chicago, IL)
Interview
I was initially provided a timed logic assessment that had me answer questions based on visual patterns. I was contacted about a week and a half later for a phone screen, then moved to an onsite interview which lasted about 3 hours. The first session consisted of a team member sharing company goals with me, an overview of where the company has been, and an insight as to how the business works. It was extremely insightful and I found it very valuable that a company would first spend their time talking about the company to me rather than going directly into assessing me. I then had a coding challenge session where I was asked to solve some problems using Python, then moved to an architectural conversation with another member of the team where we talked about my past experiences, what I am interested in, and where the team currently is. After the onsite interview, I had a final phone conversation before getting the offer.
