Initial online application including questions about hobbies, personal achievements and examples of your drive to succeed. After this I was invited to take two online tests. Firstly, a mathematical test to be taken without a calender. It was fairly simple arithmetic but the time allowed was very short for the number of questions. Secondly a data interpretation test which involved looking at tables of data and process flow diagrams and answering questions, calculator allowed. Both of these were bespoke tests, not the typical stock ones you may have seen elsewhere. Next I was invited to a video interview. This involved answering questions to your webcam. There were three question presented after which you were given 30 seconds to consider your answer and then 60 seconds to record it. After this I was invited to a selection day. This involved numerous activities. After a quick presentation about the company each person was asked to give a three minute presentation about something they are passionate about - this was made clear in the invitation to the selection day and was pre-prepared. Topics included sports, charities and personal projects. Next the group were given a "teach" session about a concept. Then a case study was handed out and we had thirty minutes to answer questions about it. This was perhaps the toughest part of the day as the 30 minute time frame is quite short! We were then asked to retake the two tests we had taken online on paper. They were similar, but not the same as the online ones. Next was a team building exercise which involved planning and building a small structure from paper, whilst considering costs. This did not seem to be assessed to any great degree as the member of staff in the room with us was not taking notes as we worked. The final part of the morning session is a one-to-one interview. Personally I found it to be almost like a friendly chat rather than an interview, and the questions were pretty standard. After some lunch, 60% of the group were told that they were not going to be continuing on with the afternoon session. Unfortunately I was one of those people so cannot comment on the rest of the day. Overall it was a difficult day, but was a good experience overall. Please note that the company did say they are constantly updating and changing their recruitment process so my experience may not be applicable for future years.
