Interview
I completed 4 rounds of interviews for this job. First, I met with a managing partner and discussed my qualifications. I had many questions about insurance sales, and the managing partner answered each one effectively. After the initial interview, I met with him again and he broke down the employee compensation for me. On the third day, I met with the person who is in charge of new employee training. He discussed with me the different phases of training that all New York Life agents go through in their careers. On the final interview day, I was offered the position.
I applied through a recruiter. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at New York Life (New York, NY) in Jul 2025

Extensive vetting. Requires you to become licensed for life insurance, after which point you'd have follow up interviews before ultimately moving forward. You need recommendations, and you'll have to conduct some introductory surveys with people who are supportive of you, and these surveys will actually benefit you down the road as you start your career.
The interview process was straightforward and comfortable. The questions were clear, allowing me to express my thoughts easily. Overall, it felt supportive and friendly, making it an enjoyable experience. Thank you!
