I applied through their careers website and was declined an interview. Then I saw the same position available through a recruiter and (according the the recruiter) received an indication of interest within hours. My recruiter set up an interview with two hiring managers in their brokerage division. The questions were standard: "What would your manager say that you do well?"; "What would your manager say you need to improve on?"; "How do you manage your team?". As the interview progressed, I feel that the questions were getting vague enough to tell me they were looking for someone different. Had I been fortunate to continue with the process, I would have met with even more senior management that were situated away from New York Life's brokerage business.
