      Sales Interview

      16 Sept 2016
      Anonymous interview candidate
      Irvine, CA
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Easy interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 1 day. I interviewed at Netwrix (Irvine, CA)

      Interview

This was by far the worst interview process I have ever been apart of. I went into the office where I waited, while the employees were shooting nerf guns at each other and constantly using foul language. While I don't mind a loose work environment, this was beyond that. I met with a lady (I forgot her name) which went very well, she was nice cordial, and explained the position in detail. I then met with their top sales rep, who was fairly young and you could tell he was nervous and simply asking the questions from a basic template, that went well also. They then had me interview with the HR rep, now this is where it all went downhill. She walked in, was very nice, but the. Proceeds to tell me her entire work history and how she was laid off before this job and her journey to find a new career with a new company which happened to be Netwrix. I am fine with that, however it took about 20 minutes and I started to get a little uninterested. She explained the pay structure, and how it was 37k a year I believe with 3 quarterly bonuses (you could potentially hit) to earn a total of 55k for the year. I explained I was under the impression that this was a commission job and I don't know if I'm interested. She asked me what the difference was, so I asked "you want me to explain the difference between commission and bonus". To end the interview she told me "you will hear from us either way, I think it's completely rude when companies don't inform you that you received the job or not". Well 3 months later and nothing. The reason I found the interview so bad, was I went in excited and ready to impress, and their own employee completely turned me off of the company to the point that I didn't want to finish the interview and get out of there.

Thank you for your feedback. It is unfortunate you did not enjoy the interview process as much as we do. All of our employees are very passionate about what they do and some like to share their stories and their view of the company culture in hopes of connecting with candidates and providing a good understanding of what our culture here is like. Then hopefully candidates know if it will be a good fit for them or not. In this case it seems you found it was not, which is fine. Regarding the bad language, we are sorry to hear this and can assure this is not normal behavior in our office and will certainly be addressed. As for the Nerf guns, culture is very important to us and we promote a fun environment for all employees. We even conduct surveys to ensure we're addressing the wishes of the staff. Regarding the pay, the numbers indicated are correct; however, you misunderstood the bonus plan; quarterly = 4, not 3. We all are fully aware of the difference between commission and bonus as we created the pay structure so perhaps there was a misunderstanding about the question. Again, we are sorry to hear you did not enjoy the interview process. In future, if you feel as strongly as wanting to "get out" of an interview we encourage you to politely tell the interviewer that you do not wish to continue and think its not a good fit. Thank you and we wish you the best of luck in your search.
