      Application

I applied online. The process took 3 months. I interviewed at Network Rail in Dec 2017

      Interview

I applied online and was then invited to do some psychometric tests which they say they like to make more "fun" by using a games app. However it's just a bit of hassle to actually download the app and learn how it works and I would've preferred normal psychometric tests. Then I was invited to do a video interview which consisted mainly of general competency questions, however after that got absolutely zero feedback. I was told that if successful, I would be invited to an assessment centre which they gave a date for. However I received zero correspondence regarding this until after the date of the assessment centre despite querying this. Overall, this gave a very negative view of how the company view its candidates and would definitely put me off applying to Network Rail in the future.

I applied online. The process took 2 months. I interviewed at Network Rail in Jan 2016

      Interview

Online questions; Logical Reasoning Tests; Video Interview; Assessment Centre. The Assessment centre consisted of a group exercise where we had to decide on what to invest money into for a hypothetical project (be vocal, confident, lead). There was also an individual exercise where we were given information (quantitative and qualitative) and had to decide what improvements to a station we would implement, and presenting a cost-benefit analysis for your decisions. Also an interview, quite full on, make sure you brush up on project management knowledge (concepts, theories, examples). Also decide on specific NR projects to talk about. Overall, a good experience although one interviewer was slightly intimidating but most likely on purpose.
