The interview process began well, but quickly devolved into a situation of unprofessional ghosting. I did my first interview about a week after applying for the job. This was a phone screen with someone in HR. I was then moved to the second round interview where I did a video chat with my potential future supervisor. Finally, I did a third round interview with 3 team members. This is where things started going downhill. The third round interview was supposed to be a series of 3 30-minute interviews where I would meet one-on-one with 3 members of the team. The whole process would take 1.5 hours. However, upon arriving, I was met by my potential future boss who told me I was extremely early and acted annoyed. It turns out, the interview structure had changed internally but no one thought to notify me. It would now be a panel interview where all 3 team members would interview me at once and only take about an hour. The start time also changed to 30 minutes after I was initially instructed to show up. No wonder this lady was upset! I was essentially wasting 30 minutes of her afternoon where she could have been getting things done. I don't blame her, though she could have hid her annoyance better. I blame whomever didn't tell me of the interview changes. Nevertheless, the panel interview went well. In fact, the structure made more sense since the team members had a lot of the same questions as each other. It was nice not to repeat myself 3 times. The day after, I sent a thank you note to my HR contact as I did not have the emails of any of my interviewers. I asked her to share my thanks with the rest of the team. I also asked for next steps as the panelists did not have information on that during my interview. I was met with complete silence. After 2 weeks, I followed up again. Still, nothing. After another week I finally received a generic, automated rejection email. It didn't even come from a person. It is extremely disheartening to go through 3 rounds of interviews just to receive silence and a generic rejection. It is unprofessional. I will likely not be applying to future positions at NetJets.
