The process takes 5 interviews. The first is a prescreen on the telephone, then 2 interviews with existing Directors (new role), a meeting with team members, and then with the CIO. Everyone was friendly and the process is relatively fast. There was a bit of name-dropping where experiences at organizations crossed.
Given I was told the role focused on leadership and having more technical staff drive technology decisions, I felt the work was more portfolio management which complimented some of my experience. I was a bit confused when I was told the decision to not go forward was based on my not having specific technical knowledge. I did ask what this was for my understanding, however, the question was not answered directly but was a salad of comments instead. I appreciated getting an answer though :)
As a seasoned professional, not sure if they know what they are looking for but I feel based on what I understand, a fantastic opportunity for developers and likely operational staff.
