      Rotational Development Program Interview

      31 Oct 2017
      Anonymous interview candidate
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Difficult interview

      Application

I applied through university. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at National Life Group in Oct 2017

      Interview

Applied through career center, had a phone interview that lasted about 20 minutes. Recruiter was really unfriendly and the conversation was pretty awkward. She wanted a really in-depth answer for the question "why us?" Also seemed disappointed that I had never visited Vermont. Never heard back from them via email but they rejected me after phone interview through the career website which personally I thought was pretty impersonal. Have never had a company do that after a phone call interview. Read a lot about this company in advance.

      Addison, TX
      No offer
      Neutral experience
      Easy interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at National Life Group (Addison, TX) in Oct 2017

      Interview

One phone interview, about 20 minutes long with a recruiter then an in person interview in Dallas. I had to drive up to Dallas and they did not offer to pay my lodging. It was 3 hours long and spoke with a panel of four people. Nothing hard or tricky at all, I honestly felt really good about the interview but was not offered a position. I was a bit annoyed with the recruiter that I was in contact with because she never responded to my email asking about the next step in the interview process (nobody that interviewed me knew because they weren't HR or really involved in the program but just managers). They called me 6 days after and left a very impersonal voicemail. I am very confused why I didn't get it but oh well.

      Rotational Development Program Interview

      Anonymous employee
      Montpelier, VT
      Accepted offer
      Positive experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied through university. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at National Life Group (Montpelier, VT) in Oct 2017

      Interview

I first had a phone-screening then no more than 2-3 days later was invited to interview on-site. I have had numerous super-days and NLG’s was by far the best one. When I arrived at NLG’s headquarters in Montpellier, VT the people were extremely friendly and my interview schedule was very organized. I not only had the chance to meet with people from different sectors of the company, but I also had the chance to take a tour of the facility and eat lunch with one of the employees. At NLG they really do try to make sure that the interviewees have a pleasant experience and that was something that I noticed right off the bat. I also felt like the interviewers really enjoyed taking the time to meet prospective employees, which I thought made the whole process that much better.
