I applied online. I interviewed at National Democratic Institute in Dec 2020
Interview
I applied online in December 2020 and received a phone call from a recruitment/HR coordinator about two weeks later. The phone screening lasted about 40 minutes, and a few days later I was invited to complete an hour writing assignment. A day later, I was offered an interview with two staff members. The interview consisted of many behavioral and situational questions. The two individuals were very distracted during the interview, muting themselves often, looking at their pets during the call (yes, you read that correctly), or looking at their screens. After multiple follow up emails, I finally received a rejection email more than a month after my interview date. While I understand that interviewing multiple candidates before the holidays can be stressful, the interview process was very rushed and unprofessional.

What would you say are the biggest threats to democracy in the region?
Very short. Didn't ask many questions. I had one HR screening. They stated I was qualified and they were very impressed, yet I was ghosted even after sending a follow-up email...
