Interview
Dodged a bullet here, beware. HR highly unprofessional, pretty sure the person I dealt with was not a bona fide HR professional; probably just related to people in the company. HR and I had a call scheduled, HR missed the call. I emailed HR and left a vm. HR called 40 min after the scheduled time (after normal working hours but I still took the call). HR not prepared or polished on the call, in fact HR was a bit argumentative about my work experience. It was weird. Invited me for an interview, so I still went because I was interested. During the interview it was clear HR didn't read my resume, instead tried to dumb down my experience and told me I probably wouldn't get the higher range of the posted salary. (Even though I have a lot of legal experience). HR also asked me how much money I was currently earning (illegal to ask in NY, a real HR person would know this). Then I met with legal team. The legal team was super professional and smart. Pretty easy and natural conversation about the job. They clearly would be awesome to work with. After talk with legal, some random person came in after the interview didn't intro themselves and re-asked me a bunch of questions, then assured me (repeatedly) that I would for hear back about the status of my application by the afternoon. I never heard from them ever again. Not even a thank you for coming in for the interview. Instead I saw that they just reposted the ad for the position I interviewed for not even 24 hours later. HR is totally unprofessional, big red flag. Which is a shame because legal team was really cool. The receptionists were so friendly and efficient. But I have to say I'm glad they never called me.
