The interview process was fairly simple. I was contacted by a recruiter who had a brief but thorough phone interview with me, and then I was invited to the next phase- in person. Once there, I was interviewed by three people, one of whom would be my direct manager, but the hierarchy was otherwise not explained other than their specific job titles. I thought the interview went very well as each of my interviewers had physical copies of my resume and took notes over the course of the hour+ I was there. This was until later that week when I received a call from one of them past 5:30PM, which I missed. I called back at 10AM the next morning and was met by being told I had interrupted their vacation with their family, and was confronted by being told I was a red flag to them because I had a job gap. This job gap was that I had decided to go back to school in August of 2022 and had been seeking a new role since transferring to an online program back in January of 2023- which I had spent several minutes discussing during my in person interview. I briefly reexplained I was getting back into the workforce after starting on my college education. I had been told this process would take no less than two weeks, three at the most. I did not get a conclusive answer until five and a half weeks had passed since that interview. I checked in after the two and a half weeks mark and didn't hear back until a few days later. I then checked back in at four weeks and didn't receive an answer until five weeks had passed telling me I wasn't selected the role and "sorry it wasn't the news you wanted" after having waited so long. During the course of all of this, I was also suffering the loss of a family member and had to travel to FL for a funeral all while waiting to hear back on whether I would have a job eventually. If I had not been proactive and consistent in following up, I doubt I would have received any update, let alone a rejection. This is one of those companies that doesn't have compassion for those who spend time and effort into their hiring process, and one of those jobs that will ghost you; it was like pulling teeth to hear back from anyone. Congrats to the person who received the role but I would advise against working for this company. Despite the fact I was rejected, I was not given any information as to why I was not selected as the candidate but was "at the top of the list" after waiting five weeks to hear back. Don't waste your time for a company that won't spend a second to communicate with you.
