Interview
Online application -- closes in December
Video interview -- January
About 10 questions, typical competency-based ones. Read the healthcare leadership model before you start the video interview.
Assessment centre -- March
AC in Leeds, NHS leadership academy.
Exercises include simulated meeting (1:1), group presentation and reflections. Again, study the leadership model and think what situations you will meet in real life if you are a service manager? How do you solve the problems and communicate with clinicians/patients/administrative staffs? Who are the stakeholders? What competencies do you demonstrate in these activities?
Soft skills tested at assessment centre: communicating with prople who are reluctant to coorperate (even aggressive and ignorant); negotiating and personal influence; engaging stakeholders and step in their shoe; being a team player and enabler.
