There were 2 interviews when starting. The first is to know your qualifications and skills. The second was to know if you knew the culture and assure you were the right fit.
I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at NEXT Financial (Houston, TX) in Mar 2016
Interview
The interview process was separated into two different interviews Two different days. Typical questions. Went over resume. the second interview was called a cultural interview, it was done by two employees from a different department than you are applying for. They ask questions, like "what would you do if...... ?" they asked for three professional references, that took one day. After that they moved on to the background check. I never heard form them again. They stated the hiring process would take 3-4 weeks.
I received a phone call about an hour after I applied for the position. The HR rep left a voicemail requesting what my salary expectations for this position were. After researching various websites and other colleagues of mine, I told her what I thought they would be, and she informed me that the position was 10K less than the low of my range. When I asked for additional benefits offered as there weren't any listed on the job posting, she had to put me on hold. My guess was to ask a colleague. Seriously, what HR rep doesn't know the benefits available? After she came back on the phone, she asked me what additional benefits I was looking for. I indicated the typical, medical, dental, 401(k), etc. She told me that there was medical, but nothing else.
After that, I knew that this was not the right place for me and I told her that I was not interested anymore.
