Started with a recruiter screen, then moved on to hiring manager and engineering lead. All seemed to go well so moved to a half day in person round of two panels with three people each. Final interviews with an SVP and HR. Then sat silent for a week only to get a declination email. Salary was underwhelming for the ask (which seemed more like software dev / senior product person) at the top end being $160k. I don't know if their hiring managers and compensation teams are looking at market salaries for the experience they want, but topping out in LA at $160k is low.
Disappointed that I discussed if there was any room to negotiate up front and feel like that was the reason I was rejected. Fast forward to two weeks later and the position is reposted with the exact same JD.
Dear NBC Uni - the unicorn you want isn't out there, and if they were expecting them to come in at the bottom of the barrel junior level salary isn't going to lure them in.
