      Store Manager Interview

      7 Nov 2020
      Anonymous interview candidate
      San Bernardino, CA
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied online. I interviewed at M·A·C Cosmetics (San Bernardino, CA) in Oct 2020

      Interview

I went through 2 weeks of interviews and then was completely ghosted. I did an interview with a Store Manager, the District Manager, did a makeup tutorial, and interviewed with the Regional manager, and then I heard nothing. I was told I would receive news from the District Manager within a few days, and I got nothing. Now a month after I started my interview process I see that they reposted the position I applied for. Not professional at all.

      Interview questions [1]

      Question 1

They mainly asked about your experience, why you wanted to work there, and how you would fit into the company.

      Store Manager Interview

      12 Jan 2013
      Anonymous employee
      Accepted offer
      Positive experience
      Easy interview

      Application

      I applied in-person. I interviewed at M·A·C Cosmetics

      Interview

The hiring process is long. First step is a verbal interview (with a recruiter or retail manager). If you pass that, you go on to a makeup interview, where you have 30 minutes to replicate a "look". If you pass that, onto the upper management (MRO, Trainer, FED). Store Managers are mainly hired from within for MAC stores, but can be hired from the outside for partnered locations (Macys, Dillard's, etc...).
