I applied online. I interviewed at Movement Strategy Center (Oakland, CA) in Dec 2022
Interview
This experience was pretty shady. I had my final interview with a leadership team member the 1st week of Feb. 2023 after meeting with multiple team members already. The interview went ok, but extremely outdated, inside the box questions were asked. Ie; 'well how come you were only at your last job a little over a year?' It's this old school mentality that forces people to stay in miserable, stressful roles that don't align with their values. Because as candidates, we know at least one panel member will ask this outdated, irrelevant question. In addition, I was asked questions that aren't typically under the HR scope. Which is fine, but the expectation of experience and response of disappointment were unnecessary. For ex: 'Have you ever handled grants.' Anyhow, after that interview, I was told I would hear back in about a week. When I didn't, I initiated contact about the status of my application. I was told the final interview team member 'wasn't back yet' and they should know something in a couple business days. I was told that multiple times until I was finally told the team member wouldn't be back until the end of March and they would talk to that person the 1st week of April. (Over a month away at that point) Then about a week after I was told that, I got a rejection email from the person the role reports to. (based on that person's title, they are clearly junior in organizational design, because that title has nothing to do with human resources) That's dandy, but I asked for feedback why the decision was made and never received a response or acknowledgment. (It's been a month with no response or acknowledement)They have blemished their brand in my book to be honest and how they move is extremely unethical.
