I applied through an employee referral. I interviewed at Morgan Stanley (Birmingham, AL) in Jun 2026
Interview
About 30 mins. First screening interview with VP. Basic questions about organizing, prioritizing, and things like my interest in finance and AI. She then referred me to two Business Service Officers who called me and asked questions like what I do outside of work or why I chose digital marketing as my MBA focus. After the BSOs, I had a call with the lead FA for one branch, and was then asked to come in for two back to back interviews with the two lead FAs for the branch I’d be at. Then following the interviews, we’d go to lunch.

Question 1
How do you manage multiple competing priorities? Have you ever been “in charge” of someone of a higher rank than you? How familiar are you with AI? Why finance (given a non finance background)? What do you want in five years/dream role? Common ones: tell me about yourself and why you’d be a good fit for this role?
I applied in-person. I interviewed at Morgan Stanley
Interview
Straight forward with reasonable questions as to why the position is one that I would want to do. Questions were in line with other wealth management firms. I would suggest knowing the role responsibilities before going into the interview.

Question 1
Do you want to advance in your career and how soon.
Very straight forward in terms of initial meeting and appointment making. Face-to-face interview was with the same person who screens over the phone. Would've like to have met with the advisor(s) that were looking to replace exiting employees. Overall, a good understanding of what the role demanded.
