      Technical Support Representative Interview

      29 Sept 2015
      Anonymous interview candidate
      Philadelphia, PA
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Difficult interview

      Application

I applied through other source. The process took 1+ week. I interviewed at Mondo (Philadelphia, PA) in Sept 2015

      Interview

My overall feeling about the Mondo's interview process? Poor. My overall feeling about Mondo's management? Disingenuous. I had two phone interviews. In each, few (if any) technical questions were asked; Few questions regarding experience were asked. I was, however asked to electronically sign a contract that I would be exclusively working with Mondo for this low end! position. So much effort, and time away from work for this quite junior job. It's clear that Mondo works for its own convenience, with little to no regard for any effort the candidate might have to make to meet Mondo's its needs or those of its client(s). So many falsehoods with this firm. * I was assured that it was Mondo that was making the final selection, and Mondo was in charge of the entire hiring process. * In speaking with Mondo management, I was assured that Mondo was simply replacing one of its existing contractors who'd returned to school. Sadly, to determine the outcome of this frightenly slipshod process I finally had to call in- No one bothered to contact me by phone or email- (despite the supposed necessity to be available start the following week!) * I was then told "they (the client) went with an internal candidate" Which does not at all jibe with what was said earlier in the process (that Mondo was in charge of the process/hiring decision). My time was wasted. That much is clear. The result of all this nonsense? My hours of effort and scramble to prep for an extraordinary ASAP start date were simply used to gauge the market and or test against another Mondo candidate. Oh, and about the poor management, and lack of coordination- I was contacted by this firm for Five separate jobs- at pay/skills levels that varied by 50,000 or more. I was even contacted after I'd asked my recruiter to put me on the "do not contact" list. I don't mind that I wasn't chosen (low end tech support is not exactly anyone's dream job) however, the poor level of communication, the frighteningly disingenuous (overly treacly, overly enthusiastic) nature of the final interview with the "manager" - the outright falsehoods -make for a firm i would suggest qualified candidates simply avoid. * I actually bothered to create a Glassdoor account to warn people away from Mondo. In sum: If you have experience and skills, the choice is easy- go with another Agency.
