Super friendly and low-key interview process. I first met over zoom with a woman from HR who was lovely. After that conversation I was invited to the campus to meet with the CEO and interview. I didn't complete this part because the job wasn't the right fit, but everyone was super nice.
I applied online. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at Microtech Knives in Jun 2025
Interview
Extremely bizarre interview experience. First, I had a call with the HR Manager, who was very kind. Then had a single in person interview with the Controller. The interview itself was extremely easy in terms of questions (tell me about your experience, etc), but the amount of red flags were huge. Both the HR Manager and Controller warned me that the owner had to be handled with kid gloves (essentially). The Controller also said that everyone they were interviewing had the skills to do the job, but that his main goal was to find someone who wouldn’t quit within a year. Then I met the owner…who proceeded to creepily glance at my chest repeatedly. When I was asked my availability I said the standard two weeks, and I could tell immediately that they did not like that (likely looking for someone to start immediately). The entire interview process was very bizarre, and to be honest, I am glad I was not offered the position.
