Interview
Well you go in submit the application, after submitting you will get a call back in a week or two, after that you will go in take a basic math assessment to see if you know basic math, and after that if you do go you get the job or not.
I applied in-person. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Michigan Production Machining (Macomb, MI) in Jan 2013
Interview
Filled out an application and received a call for an interview within a month. Went in for the interview was asked basic questions (i.e. "What are your strengths?" "What can you do for us?" ETC). Seemed like the interview was really just a formality. However, it seems that the HR personnel have no idea what the jobs they're hiring for actually are or do. I asked what the schedules were like and was told that machine operators were only working weekends about 40% of the time. They work 7 days a week.
