I applied in-person. I interviewed at Metropolitan Market (Seattle, WA) in Nov 2024
Interview
The interview was fast paced and no delay. I was not provided for high level qualifications and kept at lower position after 30 years background in 2 areas that both were denied interviews. My interview for the lower position was smooth and fast.

Easy, brief interview. They are mostly looking for competency regarding food safety and positive customer service attitude. They are okay with little or no experience in cheese or specialty foods, they will teach you on the job.
I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Metropolitan Market (Bellevue, WA) in Jan 2023
Interview
Initial phone screening with the talent specialist was concerning when he revealed a previous applicants full name and why they were turned down. The applicant was someone who worked at my current employer and I may have personally known. My first in person interview with VP was lovely. He's very easy to talk to and I felt it went really well. My group interview was delayed several weeks to accommodate the CEO's schedule and then he didn't show up. VP sat in for him. Panel interview with multiple leaders from the office as well as store level. The panel interview was all over the place. The questions didn't showcase a person leadership skills. I was questioned hard by the HR rep regarding a example of a hard situation I handled and it felt inappropriate how much she was pushing me for more information. I was offered a lesser role with the potential to be promoted after 6 months. I declined as it was lesser pay. I would have lost benefits for my family(ASD was salaried and immediate benefits). It was also a role that I was overqualified for. I was very open that I was seeking growth opportunities and eager to learn new skills. Looking back there were many red flags during the interview process. First impressions go both ways with the interview and hiring process.
