I applied online. The process took 8 weeks. I interviewed at Merck
Interview
Online submission of resume, etc. It REALLY helps to have an inside network connection to send resume to. The scanning/recruiting process sadly filters out many good candidates. Initial phone screening- often by HR, then 1-2 in person interviews - often with more than one person. Followed by grilling by HR over salary, benefits, etc. Then notification, offer letters, negotiations, pre-employment physical and drug test and start.

Question 1
How will you contribute to this company over the next 5 years?
Fairly easy. Just prepare. Don’t be timid. It’s a conversation. Be ready to tell them your experience. Give clear examples. Overall the experience was great and they are a welcoming company. Like anybody else they want to know about your qualifications.
interviewed with great manager and strong company and had informative information about Merck. There were multiple interviews with different levels of management then a sit down with all managers to come up with ideal candidate.

Question 1
why are you the ideal candidate for this position?
I applied online. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Merck (San Diego, CA) in Aug 2023
Interview
Initial phone screen with recruiter went well. Was notified that I passed the first round and will be contacted by the hiring manager for an interview. The interview was scheduled a week later. It wa s a panel interview with 2 people - 1 was on camera and the other wasn’t. They asked basic questions and thought it went okay. The next steps would be an in person interview but I was ghosted by the recruiter and the hiring managers for 3 weeks. Finally, I received a generic email from Merck stating they were going with someone else.
