The hiring process was very short. I was contacted for a phone interview, which I had initially thought was just a brief description of the job. They were explaining that the job is mostly traveling setting up stores for their openings. I was interested, and told I would be sent paper work to fill out. (This is when I saw all of the things not mentioned during the "interview") I'm not against travel, at all. However, at no point during the interview was it expressed I would be using my own vehicle, providing my own tools.
I asked to speak more about it and was contacted by the VP he discussed with me then that the per diem I was offered is .25 a mile (the average is .53 a mile) and the per diem offered for all your eating expenses is $24 a day. (I checked the average per diem amount for the first location they wanted to send me was $50... a months time that's a loss of $750 average per diem a month alone.) I was also then told I was already on the schedule and ready to start (again without discussing pay, per diem, tools, using my own vehicle etc.)
Their almost too fast hiring process and below average per diem and mileage for a company that requires mostly travel was enough to turn me away.
All people I spoke with seemed very nice.
