      Application

I applied online. The process took 6 weeks. I interviewed at Mediatonic (Brighton, England) in Jun 2019

      Interview

The initial stage involved a phone interview with HR, mainly discussing my experience relevant to the role. The second stage involved a technical test that I was able to complete in my own time. This was helpful as it allowed the employer to gain an understanding of my programming skills and for me to see the type of work that the role would involve. Next was a video call with the technical director. This was a relatively informal chat wherein my solution to the previous stage was discussed, improvements, design choices etc along with some discussion about my previous experience and general technical knowledge. For the fourth stage I was invited to attend a pair programming excercise in the Brighton office wherein I was asked to implement various functionality in a model answer project similar to the technical test from stage two. This was essentially similar to a whiteboard test wherein I was able to show how I approach problems and communicate things but a bit more informal and with less pressure. The last stage was a final phone call with the CTO. The process from stage one to a job offer was around six weeks. For me it was a good experience as it gave me plenty of opportunity to ascertain the nature of the work involved in the role.
