I would suggest against applying to McCain Foods. Many of their job postings appear to be fake. I should have known something was off when they had 4 similar postings active at the same time, including Temporary Senior Brand Manager, Senior Brand Manager-Foodservice, Innovation Senior Brand Manager, and Senior Brand Manager QSR, all in Toronto.
After I applied online, I received an interview invitation just two days later. However, once I scheduled the interview, I received a notification the following day stating that it had been cancelled. Following that I received a separate email explaining that the invitation had been sent to me by mistake and that they cancelled the interview on their end. Within the same email, they also mentioned that the rejection email I allegedly received still stood, but they apologized for the confusion.
While I accepted their decision, I informed their team that their systems seems to have multiple errors, not just one, since I had never actually received the rejection email they claimed was sent. After that, I didn’t hear back from them. Two days later, I finally received the rejection email, and shortly after, I got three additional rejections for the other Senior Brand Manager positions they had open. Interestingly, these 3 additional rejections seemed to be sent out all at the same time, almost as if they were automated to be sent out at a certain time after application.
Overall, my experience with the company was frustrating. The fact that they had four Senior Brand Manager positions open in the same location at the same time raises suspicions of being authentic openings. I would recommend skipping any applications for this company in similar situations, as it could likely be a waste of your time. As of this review, all four postings are still active and have been reposted to appear as new listings. Good luck, everyone!
