I applied to the job and received a call back very quickly, which went positively. I was asked to come in for an in-person interview, which was to be a presentation of my past work given to the group I'd be potentially working with. That day came, and I was completely stood up, made to wait outside in 105 degree heat, no-call no-show, for almost an hour, before I simply left. I rescheduled that interview against my better judgment, and the actual second interview went very well, with the team saying explicitly they were "very impressed" by my qualifications. I then was told to wait 2 weeks for a response, after which I received an *automated robo response rejection email*, with no message from the hiring manager whatsoever. Mind you this was a fairly high level position, a mid-career scientist! Zero professionalism or courtesy was shown to me at any point. This company and group is an absolute disaster and I'm frankly glad they rejected me - it would have been a horrible job with that kind of communication as a standard.
