I applied online. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at Maurices
Interview
Dropped off resume after applying for job online and was given an informal interview on site. Manager asked about my experience and desire to do the job well, and scheduled a more formal interview for a few days later. Formal interview was in the center of the mall (out in public) but had standard retail work interview questions, then moved into the store where I was asked to create outfits for various scenarios.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
How would you deal with a cranky customer? How much experience do you have working retail? Why Maurice's? Go through the store and create an outfit you would wear in various scenarios.
I applied in-person. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Maurices (Salt Lake City, UT) in May 2025
Interview
Was very quick and questions were not difficult great for an entry level management job. Focused on basic leadership skills and customer service. You will have 2 interviews minimum starting with the general manager then the district manager.
Pretty simple. Brief conversation with store lead about past experience and current role expectations. Very laid back company and demands. Conversation did happen in person at the retail store itself in their back room.
Questions about deescalate situations, goals, experience, how to build teamwork etc. They also asked about role play situations regarding employees and leadership. Like how to handle a situation where an employee is not following standards or expectations
