      Staff Consultant Interview

      11 Oct 2010
      Anonymous interview candidate
      Chicago, IL
      No offer
      Neutral experience
      Difficult interview

      Application

The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Mattersight (Chicago, IL) in Sept 2010

      Interview

I had an initial screening phone interview, that comprised of basic behavioral questions. That was pretty standard, asking questions like why eLoyalty? What do you know about our company/ product? It seemed that they were just screening for communication and basic competence. The second round phone interview asked more specific behavioral interview questions, but the tricky part was a couple logic questions. I did well on the second, but the first was tough.

      Question 1

If you have ten machines that produce gold coins, and one machine produces coins that weigh one gram less than they should be, with a single read from a digital scale how could you tell which machine was producing the light coins?
