I applied online. I interviewed at Mastercard (Dublin, Dublin) in Aug 2020
Interview
Once profile shortlisted you will get an invite for a 30min video interview. (technical screening)
The actual person who is mentioned in the video call will be some manager, but at the time of interview that person didn't show up. Instead, 3 technical people came. (so don't misjudge prepare properly for technical screening)
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
Questions will be framed based on CV.
In general, they are looking for DevOps engineer, with hands-on in CI/CD pipeline and its related stacks ( git, Jenkins, Maven etc).
Explain CI/CD flow in your company and what you did in it?
Explain git branching in your environment
explain AWS auto-scaling group and what error you faced in it.
In a CSV I need to view only 3rd column of the file how ? (shell command - #cut -d',' -f3 example.csv > test.txt )
Ansible related question and other IaC tool in case if you mentioned in your CV.
then, general shell, linux, etc
One of the worst interview experiences. They took forever to schedule the first interview. It was suppose to be a 30 min interview, but it lasted for more than 45 min.
Initial phone screening with HR and the 2nd round was with the hiring manager. Friendly staff but I may not have been as qualified as I thought. There were a lot of questions about specific software used in the role.
The interview process went well. I was asked questions about linux, unix and splunk. They usually go over cv and ask questions around it. The interviewers seem very polite and wise.
