Initial phone screen with a recruiter on the TA team. Set up via email and conducted via phone for 30 minutes as the first step of the process.
Recruiter called me 29 minutes late to our 30 minute call and did not apologize for being late in fact they stated to me that they never take initial screens during this time but made an exception for me but then forgot about it. They didn't bother asking me if it was still a good time for me. Recruiter clearly did not want to be on the call nor had reviewed my resume before or knew how to pronounce any of the tech companies that I have worked at before. Insulted my resume and experience and made comments like 3 years at a company isn't very long and you didn't stay long enough to see through the contributions you made. Showed no interest nor compassion. Recruiters need to remember that a candidate's time is valuable and being degrading is the worse type of recruiter. I've never left an interview feeling more upset than I did with this Recruiter. If this is reflection on how people are at Marvell then I would not want to work there. Worse recruiter screen I've experienced before. I tried to be as polite as possible during this call. I wasn't surprised that this recruiter didn't even bother to follow up with me at all even to close out. I hope I never have to experience something like this again and I hope that Marvell train their recruiters better so no one else has to go through such a negative experience as I did.
