I applied through other source. The process took 2 days. I interviewed at Marvel Executives (Riverside, CA) in Jan 2014
Interview
I must have seen a flashy ad that looked appealing. I don't even think I sent in a resume I think I just called them or sent an email for more information. They called and wanted to do an "interview" so I made an appointment and went in. The people in the office should have been a huge red flag. None of them looked like "business professionals" and it didn't seem like a working environment with their annoying, far too loud techno music playing in the lobby. I still took the interview and it was very weird. He talked a lot about all these big name clients but then said that they focus a lot on the automotive side of marketing because they are all huge "automotive buffs". It really didn't feel much like an interview he just talked a lot and asked me if I thought I could talk to people and what my favorite quote was to stand out to their recruiters..... I got a call back for a second interview a day later then they originally told me. The girl over the phone was laughing about being dyslexic and that she must have dialed my number wrong yesterday. Still wondering how I had even "qualified", I went to the second interview and was greeted by the same loud annoying music and sketchy NOT business professional people. Then came time for my background check. I started filling out the information and unlike many of their other applicants I actually READ what I was agreeing to. Sorry, but I don't authorize people to run my credit when I don't even know how much they are willing to pay me or if I am even going to get an offer at all. I'm sure I would have gotten the offer if I would have stuck through their process. It seriously looked like anyone with a heartbeat was getting accepted.
Anyways, I told the nice girl at the desk I wasn't comfortable with it and she told me "Oh, that's just a general form the company we do our background checks through uses, we wont run your credit" I explained to her that I trust her but that I wasn't willing to sign a form that says you can run my credit that has my social, drivers license number and birthday on. It just didn't make sense. She acted a little put out by my intelligence and got who I guess was the "boss". When I told him my concerns he said the same things she said. I said I just wasn't comfortable with that and asked if they had an alternative form I could sign to authorize a background check. He again told me they wouldn't check my credit and I told him the form I was signing said they could. Also seeming a bit turned off by my intelligence he stuck his hand in my face (to shake it) and said "Ok then, good luck with everything!" So I said "Ok, thanks!" And walked out!
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
The only real question they asked me was a quote for the recruiters to remember me by....
I applied online. The process took 2 days. I interviewed at Marvel Executives in Nov 2013
Interview
Received a call back after applying online. Was told there was a position available. Upon going to first interview they did not supply any information about themselves or answer my questions. All they asked me was about myself and my personality. Was told they would call me later that day if they were going to do the 2nd interview. Went to the second interview and employer was still not forthcoming regarding salary or other information, other than it was windshield repair. Was told I would have to drive in rush hour traffic from Riverside to Moreno Valley. Drove there and was told the job 20 dollars for each windshield you repair and a percentage of the sales of wax and wash product that you sell...mostly all commission. The advertisement said it was 450 to 700 a week.
