Unlike most companies would phone every few days to confirm the interview date which can be excessive. During the interview I was not asked questions about my experience related to the role. Instead about a part time retail job I had done many years ago. Emailed the hr representative who was dealing with my application a few days later to ask for the outcome of the interview and did not hear back which I found strange considering how often she would call leading up to the interview. Very odd experience.

Question 1
What were the customers at *insert company* (part time retail from many years ago) job like?
Started with a phone interview. I was called back for two separate in person interviews. Even after follow up from the recruiter that I would be hearing something the following week. I never heard anything back. Training programs sounded structured. Would have at least liked a response back since I was told I would hear the following week.

Question 1
An interesting question from the in person interview was the last book I read.
I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Markel (Richmond, VA) in Sept 2022
Interview
Happened over zoom. Was a 3 step process that was all handled over zoom. The position was hybrid which is why I guess I did not need to go into the office for.
I applied online. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at Markel (Houston, TX)
Interview
Two interviews. The first is a phone screen going over the responsibilities of the position, your interest, and your resume. The second is in-person with the branch manager and one of the underwriters. They go over the position in more detail and ask behavioral questions.
No room for career advancement. Was described as a "flat company" during the in-person interview.
Not the most professional bunch. In-person interviewers were disinterested and just read questions off a script. You won't hear back if you don't get the position even though they say you will be contacted.
