I applied online. I interviewed at Marcus & Millichap in Oct 2019
Interview
This is the only phone interview in my life where I’ve thought about hanging up. The person I spoke with was completely rude and unprofessional. He asked me multiple questions in regards to what my dad’s job and work history is, and what part of town I grew up in. In fact, he seemed much more interested in my dad than he seemed in me.
After asking about my family’s history, he told me that he was “not my friend, but my boss”. He made it known multiple times that he wouldn’t be a good resource for me or “my friend”. He then told me that if I accepted the job, he would decide over the next few months if he wanted to keep me as an employee. The real kicker was that I wouldn’t receive a salary during my first year of work, but not to worry because during the second year, I’d make up to $50,000. I’ve never wanted to get off the phone faster.

Interview
Talked to recruiter and then had a few in person interviews with branch manager. Overall very seamless process and easy interview without any difficult questions. Essentially was a conversation with management to see if you are a fit in the office and cut out for job
