I applied through university. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Macy's (Cincinnati, OH) in May 2012
Interview
I first met with a recruiter at a job fair on campus. Macy's then had a meet the recruiter event that night (I suggest going to everything the offer - you get to meet executives and get your name out). I submitted my application and was then asked to participate in the on campus interviews.
The on campus interviews consisted of a 30 minute behavioral interview and a 30 minute coaching exercise. The interviews went well - but are someone intense. Make sure you do your research and have questions prepared to ask the recruiters.
After the on campus interviews I was invited to participate in the on site interview in Cincinnati,OH. The on-site is a great experience - you meet lots of students and executives and Macy's treats you very well. We got to stay in a nice hotel and had a nice dinner all paid for by Macy's. The first day of the on site was a tour of a Macy's and a dinner with the executives. The next day consisted of four interviews, some are one on one and some are group activities and presentations.
Unfortunately, I did not receive an offer from Macy's, but regardless the experience was great and it really allowed for me to grow my interview skills. I also met some amazing people on that trip that I am still friends with today! I hope this information helps and I wish you the best of luck! Also-if you for some reason do you get an offer from Macy's always ask for feedback as to why, I did this and the information was very helpful for my future job hunts!!
The interview process was lengthy but very conversational. I think there were 3-5 rounds. There was also a technical interview for your specific function that you took online in a closed browser.
It was easy. Just be yourself and don’t overthink it. First was a 15 min screening call over the phone. Then a 45 min zoom call with another individual. Questions related to past experience and how you deal with certain situations.
There were 3 rounds. The first is just an hr screening. You then have to take 2 exams for the second round. After the exams there is one final round. The process was very straightforward.
