I applied online. I interviewed at Macy's (Grand Forks, ND) in Aug 2015
Interview
The bulk of the interview questions seemed very vanilla retail questions. Customer service, "what would you do if...?" , etc. As annoying as it may seem, just answer the questions with cliche'd answers about "the customer is always right" and that sort of stuff and they will love it. Obviously mix in some common sense and you should get a job offer right there once they go check their rosters for an opening. (For me, I figured out that they wouldn't have called me in if they HADN'T had an opening.)
OVERALL: If you seem like a normal person that treats people fairly and has decent people skills, and if they think that you'd be a "good face for the company," they'll hire you.

Question 1
Sell me this pen. (She had just gotten done watching the Wolf of Wall Street, obviously.)
Interviewed with manager discuss what’s needed on the sales floor someone who helps customers. Learn to look product up on the computer. They let you know that the position is seasonal maybe this was said 4 to five times. Given a packet of what the pay structure is. During the interview it seemed like a sales pitch for the Macy credit card.

Interview
Very friendly HR staff over the phone but the online interview app wasnt working after the first few questions, and the phone interview asked what felt like the exact same question to tell them a story four times in a row.

Question 1
Tell us a time when you made a customer feel welcome.
They have a pretty basic interview process. There are two interviews, one with a human supervisor and another with the jewelry supervisor at seperate times so you will have to come in multiple time to interview.
