I applied online. The process took 2 months. I interviewed at MIT (Cambridge, MA) in Jun 2011
Interview
Two interviews, one with the boss, one with coworkers. I never met or was screened by anyone in HR. There was also a long pause between interviews. I found it unusual that the interview and hiring process was not managed by HR in any way. It is difficult to provide useful information here because now that I've been at MIT for a while, I know that each department will conduct their own interviews and they will vary widely.

I applied online. The process took 2 months. I interviewed at MIT (Boston, MA) in Jun 2023
Interview
Long process, I had one phone call, one zoom interview and 5 in person interviews, two assessments. The panel was friendly, the culture was welcoming too. The interviewers typically consist of members from the department or program the candidate would be coordinating. The interview begins with a warm greeting and an opportunity for the candidate to briefly introduce themselves. The interviewers then delve into the candidate's professional background, asking questions about their previous experience in program coordination, event planning, and project management.

Question 1
What would you tell MIT student to convince him of the program.
Phone interview within a day of applying and then offered an in person interview two weeks after. I attended the interview which I think went well and they asked me to complete a task within 4 days. Submitted the finished task and they completely ghosted me, no feedback or even a polite decline email. My request for an update was ignored. I will not be applying at MIT again.
