      Machine Learning Engineer Interview

      14 Oct 2019
      Anonymous interview candidate
      San Diego, CA
      No offer
      Positive experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Lytx (San Diego, CA) in Sept 2019

      Interview

I applied to Lytx in the first week of September. Got a telephonic call from HR after 1 week, which was based on my resume review, company culture & the job description. After that, I got a HackerRank test of 2 hours; which comprised of 3 questions: MCQ to test knowledge of basic Python, a coding question which was very easy & a ML coding question where they provided a dataset & you had to make prediction using any ML algorithm of your choice (sklearn was allowed). After that, I had a telephonic Interview with the Hiring manager; which was more technical. He asked me about some ML/DL projects that I have done & went deep into one of those projects including why this approach, why this algorithm etc. Then, he asked me some general ML theory questions. I didn't get selected for the next round, which was supposed to be onsite. But, overall, it was a good Interview experience.

      Interview questions [1]

      Question 1

MCQ on Python List slicing, coding question on string manipulation(very easy). ML theory questions: How to avoid overfitting, PCA, Bias-Variance tradeoff.
