Definitely an unique interview experience! I received an email from one of the HR recruiters that included a writing assessment handling a driver's issue. Once that was completed, I received an email invite to come to the office for a hiring event.
The hiring event was very laid back and actually kind of fun! We started with a Round Robin style interview in which there were 6 potential new hires. We paired up and asked each other a few questions, then had to introduce our partner to the rest of the group.
After that, we moved to a "Speed Dating" round. We were each put in separate rooms and current Lyft associates rotated between us and asked us different interview questions. There were 3 or 4 rounds. Some were professional style questions, others were personal. I think this is very efficient way of making sure not only Lyft gets to know you as a person, but you get to know Lyft and how the culture is at the office. This makes sure that you're a good fit for Lyft and Lyft is a good fit for you.
That evening, I received an email that I was invited back for a final round of interviews. I met with two current Lyft associates and they briefed me on two role play situations. One was a driver issue, the other was a passenger issue. Role playing can be stressful, especially because you don't their policies, but the key is to show empathy, go the extra mile, and definitely keep safety in mind. I was nervous about the role play, but once we started, it wasn't bad at all!
Lastly, the Team Lead came in and asked me a few more questions.
I was contacted the next day with an offer! Everyone was really friendly and helpful during the whole process. Definitely enjoyed the interview process and I'm excited to be a part of the Lyft family!
