I had two phone interviews Spring 2019. I was in the process of moving from Arizona to Chicago. Both people I spoke to were pleasant, complimentary and described a company culture I was really excited about. The last phone conversation was left off that someone would be reaching out to me to set up a 3rd phone interview - however, that never happened. After not hearing anything, I followed up several times to try to facilitate scheduling a 3rd interview call - nothing. I understand that not every job interview will work out - while disappointing, it's just a part of life. However, "ghosting" a candidate after verbally setting the expectation of a following interview, I find not only to be completely unprofessional, but also showing as a lack of common decency and integrity. The company culture I was so excited about when I first interviewed, seemed to be more of lip service than anything else. My hope is they learn to treat candidates with more respect than they extended with our interviewing process.
