I was headhunted by a recruiting agency and briefed on the Global Director of Demand Generation role.
I agreed to start interviewing with the company and to meet with the hiring manager, who really got me engaged with the role.
The next step involved meeting with their marketing contractor so they could assess my marketing knowledge. The interview went well and I was told on multiple occasions that I was providing the correct answers and giving the right level of details. I then received the offline feedback that my answers were "light on detail" and was rejected from the process, which took about a month (and a lot of chasing).
Looking back, I remembered that I was asked questions to which the contractor didn't have answers for. I was also informed by them that they had tried to reach out to me in the past to sell me their services but I had never got back to them. I don't think this would have been the reason why I got rejected but I found the approach a bit unsettling.
Having said that, Loyalty Lion seems to be a good company and the discussions I had with their permanent employees were positive.
