I filled out an application on a Wednesday morning and received a call from the HR Manager asking me to come in for an interview the next day. I went in the next day (early); I was interviewed by the HR Manager after 7 minutes. The interview was about 10-15 minutes long and consisted of 5 questions which dealt with the 'What would you do/what have you done in this/that situation?' questions. They were fairly simple, especially if you have customer service experience. The HR Manager told me that I would be interviewed by another manager and asked me to wait while they spoke to the Assistant Manager. About 15 minutes the Assistant Manager came and took me into another room and interviewed me. The second interview was quite similar to the first. I was asked to wait while the Assistant Manager and the HR Manager spoke. I was probably waiting about 5 minutes. The Assistant Manager came back and asked if I could stay a little later and told me that they wanted me to interview with the Store Manager. We went to his office to see if he was able to interview me but he was in a meeting which would take up most of the afternoon. They asked me to come back the next morning for a third interview. I came back the next morning (once again early), and met with the Store Manager. The questions were pretty much the same as the previous interviews. After I answered the final question, he offered me the position and pending the results of a drug test and background check, they would call me in to make a formal offer. Before I left that day the HR Manager gave me a drug test, using saliva which is collected by an awful tasting swab which you handle yourself. I was offered something to get rid of the taste afterwards. Due to the weekend and then the following weekend being a holiday weekend, they weren't able to review my results for about two to three weeks. I called to check after a week, the Manager wasn't in, left a message. A week later I called again and spoke to the HR Manager who informed me that they were behind and would be reviewing that day and the next. The next day I was called to come down the following day for a letter offer. I went in, accepted and signed a paper. I got the job and start this week. All the Managers and employees that I came into contact with were polite and efficient. There were a few other candidates for the same position and a few other positions there during the first day I interviewed but they didn’t get a third interview and or didn’t get hired. They wore T-shirts and jeans, one man wore faded clothes with holes and although he had a resume, it was on cheap paper, folded and wrinkled. I showed up each time in a nice dress shirt and dress pants, both ironed, with a few copies of my resume, which was neatly put together on good quality paper. If you're lucky enough to have an interview with Lowe's, make sure to research the company and position, dress nice, arrive early, ask questions, and make eye contact.
