I applied through other source. The process took 3 months. I interviewed at Lowe's Home Improvement (Hartford, CT) in May 2009
Interview
Three interviews - two 1:1 and one group. Pretty intensive interviews, especially, obviously, the group interview. It seems as if there is not much accountability of Sr Mgmt as far as keeping themselves professional in their actions affecting future and current employees.
Also, even with all the "guidelines" and structure, somehow they still managed to end up with some pretty bad hires... I think most people though the process was pretty intensive. Possibly in part to poor communications skills. There's no presentation, if you will, of what will happen, what to expect. You're just kind "cattled" through the process.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
None, really. You have to expect all of the questions you heard, seen or read about in these times. Worst traits they ask, most challenging mgmt situation, job you didn't like, yada yada...
I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Lowe's Home Improvement (New York, NY) in Dec 2015
Interview
I already worked for the company, so I applied internally online. Had an interview about a week later with the zone assistant manager and store manager. All questions were situational questions. Got the offer via phone call a few days later.

Interview
Department Managers usually interview with the Assistant Store Manager of the given zone and Store Manager. Questions will be selected from categories such as customer service, sales, leadership/management, etc. It will last around 30 min- 1 hour, depending on how well you answer the questions. The more detailed and specific you are, the better. Some managers will ask additional questions in response to your answers. They always ask if you have anything else that you want to share with them--you are welcome to bring anything from previous job experiences that demonstrates that you are qualified. It's always a good idea to have a question to ask them as well.
