I applied online. I interviewed at Lotus Interworks
Interview
The process began with a recruiter online interview, a second round interview with the leadership team, and eventually led to an in-person interview in Los Angeles with senior leadership. I was asked to arrange and pay for my own travel and transportation, with the promise of reimbursement. While I was reimbursed, the lack of structure and communication around the process raised concerns.
The in-person meeting lasted several hours and felt more like an get to know each other conversation than a structured interview. Expectations were unclear, and the process seemed improvised rather than intentional. Despite the time and effort invested, I was never provided feedback or closure and was ultimately ghosted.
Concerns
-No follow-up or feedback after investing significant time and effort (including travel).
-Communication was inconsistent, with emails often going unanswered.
-The role was reposted shortly after the in-person meeting, with no updates given.
-Overall, the process felt disorganized and dismissive of candidates’ time.
Advice to Management
-Provide candidates with timely updates, even if the decision is negative. ---Ghosting after such a significant investment of time reflects poorly on the company’s professionalism. A structured, respectful process benefits both candidates and the organization.
