      Application

I interviewed at Lord Abbett & Co. (Jersey City, NJ)

      Interview

Not too hard, process was dragged out further than it should have but the conversations were easy and not too technical. 5 rounds with multiple people from the team. Good people

      Question 1

      Tell me backround about yourself?

      Easy interview

      Application

I applied online. I interviewed at Lord Abbett & Co. in Oct 2024

      Interview

First step was to submit the online application. About a week later, I received an interview request. I met two-on-one with two analysts. The meeting was in a conference room with me on the big screen, and the two spent a few minutes chatting. In all honesty, this was not a role I was particularly interested in as I had just received an EB investment banking offer the day before, but I still spent about an hour researching the company and preparing for the interview to brush up on general skills. Once I joined the call, I immediately felt both of their condescending attitudes. I answered the classic "tell me about yourself" when asked and both didn't really say anything for a couple minutes. They then asked me to sell myself, then, after these two questions were exhausted, didn't ask me anything else. They opened up the floor for me to ask questions, about six or seven minutes into the call. Each time I asked a question (about five or six different questions), they would laugh with each other for a moment before giving a short, detached response. At one point, I simply didn't care enough to continue and thanked them for their time, leaving early. I really don't have a big ego and I didn't consider myself a top candidate for the role. However, I have been successful in far more rigorous processes involving soft and technical skills for more interesting positions, and being completely written off in the first 30 seconds was a terrible impression. Doesn't seem like a great environment and I know I will be much happier in the roles I was successful in.

I applied online. The process took 2 months. I interviewed at Lord Abbett & Co. (Jersey City, NJ) in Nov 2023

      Interview

It was a few rounds with more personality and experience oriented questions. The team that’s in charge of interviewing is very friendly and open to all questions. As you go through the rounds you can speak with more senior members of the company
