      Application

I applied online. I interviewed at Lloyds Banking Group (Solihull, England) in Jan 2016

      Interview

      - Online application, Strengths & Cultural Assessment, Numerical & Inductive Reasoning Tests. - Video Interview to be completed at home with pre recorded questions. My advice would be to be yourself as they want to be able to see your personality shine through so if you're an outgoing person, be outgoing with your answers. - Assessment Centre. This is a whole day affair from 8:45-16:15 so be prepared. I suggest that if you do not live close by then make arrangements for accommodation for the day prior to your AC, which they help to organise for you. The day is split into four parts, not everyone's is in the same order but you will all complete them all. So after the meet and greet, a presentation & talk from two 2015 Graduates and an ice breaker the day was as follows: 1. Written Assessment - very similar to Situational Judgement. You have 6 scenarios of which you must answer what you would do and why it is good for LBG. You have 20 minutes to complete this task and you MUST finish. My advice is to answer in bullet points; with 6 answers needed in 20 mins, you essentially have 3 mins per answer and 2 mins to read over. Always link your answers to the LBG values and why the choice you have made is the best. From my feedback, I scored the most on this task so if you stick to this you should be fine. 2. Group Task - Group of 4 completing an activity to essentially work out the perfect bank for customers. Not sure how to explain more than that, not much you can do to prepare for this but just be yourself and once again link it to the company's values. 3. 1;1 Interview. Standard interview questions although it felt extremely long.It was 1hr long. It's a three part interview. Competency based, Technical & Industry. Ensure you have completed enough research on the company, its values (they will ask you what they three main values are), any recent changes etc. Have some information about the most up to date news on the bank e.g the sale of LBG shares by the Govt etc. The more you know the better, you want to seem genuinely interested in joining the bank. 4. Pitch - They email you to prepare this at home. You must deliver a five min presentation on an innovation, idea or service to make Lloyds a better bank for customers. Ensure you go on for no longer than 5 mins or they will cut you off and have some answers prepared for potential questions as they ask about 3/4 questions afterwards. Once again link it back to the company's values. The best thing is that you're not competing against each other but rather a set of criteria that they have so you also get to make some friends. We were told that we would be informed within seven days as to whether or not we had been successful. On the afternoon of the 7th day I received a phonecall to tell me that I had received an offer. I personally used Glassdoor to prepare for this AC and it went really well so hopefully if you are reading this it goes just as well for you too! Good luck!
